Atlanta brings in close to half a million tourists per a year, and there’s a lot to see when you’re in Atlanta. The Georgia Aquarium, is the largest indoor aquarium in the world. The new World of Coca-Cola allows visitors to taste how Coke tastes around the world.
With all of the visitors Atlanta has, this has driven down car rental costs and made the prices quite cheap in comparison to other major cities. Atlanta also stretches out quite a bit so it’s harder to get around without renting a car. Atlanta features all of the major car rental companies including National, Enterprise, Budget, and more. These car rental companies will often have specials and discounts. Enterprise is known to have 50% off weekend specials. They’ve even had car rentals for $10 per day in the past. You can’t get much cheaper than that on a car rental.
What isn’t cheap about renting a car in the insurance. Using your credit card to insure your car is highly recommended. It can save you up to $10 a day at some rental agencies. This doesn’t cover you for damage you inflict on other cars however, just on your rental. If you want to be covered on damages you may cause on other cars you’re going to have to use your own insurance or buy the rental companies expensive insurance for that.
If you’re using the credit card’s insurance to cover the car you should know what the deductible is. It can sometimes be up to $500 and that can be a nasty surprise if you just get a dent in your rental.
When you do rent your car you should try to visit some of Atlanta’s museums. Atlanta is home to the Atlanta History Center; the Carter Center; the Martin Luther King, Jr., National Historic Site; the Atlanta Cyclorama and Civil War Museum; historic house museum Rhodes Hall; and the Margaret Mitchell House and Museum.
